Aleksandra Jachtoma was born in 1932 in Barchaczow. She studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Torun Nicolaus Copernicus University, at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts under professor Czesław Rzepinski, and then at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, under professor Kazimierz Tomorowicz. She obtained her diploma in 1958. She uses exclusively painting as a medium. 1987 she received the Culture and Art Minister’s Award for her lifetime achievement. She is a laureate of the Cyprian Kamil Norwid Prize and the Jan Cybis Prize of the Warsaw District of the Polish Visual Artists’ Association in 2003. She participated in many exhibitions of painting, including 30 solo shows.
